Dress: Lands' End c/o Gwynnie Bee | Necklace: eBay | Tights: Nordstrom | Shoes: VC Signature

Yes, it's Lands' End. Lands' End! Ponte knit, pockets, and this year's hottest color according to Pantone. It's really icky out today (though quite warm) so the pictures look a tad washed out – this dress is a true bright emerald green. I played a lot with this dress this weekend, thought it also looked cute with a crisp white shirt underneath, a scarf tucked into the neckline, and a skinny pink belt in the middle of the wide waistband. Again, three cheers to Gwynnie Bee for making us members take a second look at brands. While I know Lands' End has great craftmanship and great style, this dress is surely on trend and I wouldn't be surprised if the tag instead said J. Crew or Boden.

FYI, Gwynnie Bee is having a deal where you can try out their service for 30 days – completely risk-free. This offer applies to the one, two and three garment plans. You won't be charged unless you continue with the service and you can cancel online at anytime. They believe so strongly that you will like their program that they'll let you test drive it! 1. I’ve always felt that Land’s End was undervalued as a brand! As a retired Prepster, I’ll always be fond of L.L. Bean but especially Land’s End- they always have made GREAT quality clothes that last and last- your dress (and you!) are a beaute!

  2. Okay, I admit it: I’m TOTALLY AMAZED that such a perfect, chic dress is from Land’s End. Though I must add: between your joie de vivre and those shoes, you could probably wear a burlap sack and look hot.

  3. I have this dress in the eggplant color and am actually wearing it today as we are hosting a large meeting and I needed something that would stand up to a lot of sitting and standing. Plus it looks great with flats! I live in a hilly and humid city so this dress was a great find.

Once again Allie you have styled it wonderfully!

  4. Fabulous! I have this LE dress in burgundy and love it but WOW, it really shines in this terrific green.

  5. Gorgeous! Man I wish I could make those Lands End dresses work for me, but I am just too tall. You have always looked so great in LE!

  6. I bought mine last week in the blue. It’s really beautiful, looks comfortable, and should travel well. Can’t beat the sale price. Thanks so much for your input on it.

  7. Wow! That dress is phenomenal! It certainly looks like it could be accessorized in multiple ways – my favorite trait in a dress 🙂 You look wonderful in that color, too.

  8. What a fantastic dress – I’ll have to see if I can get one too! It looks great even in slightly washed out colours.

  9. I tried that dress from Gwynnie Bee in purple and loved it so much that I bought it in the green when it went on sale at LE.

  10. Gorgeous color on you. I’m not entirely aboard the emerald train, but I’m getting there. Great styling too!

    1. LOL I have been on the emerald train since a kid so it’s exciting for me to have a trendy color be one I already like and have in my closet. Now I just need to lose the poundage I put on over the holidays so I can fit in my emerald silk button-front shirt! 🙂

  11. Allie,

I thought you might find this mildly interesting. Among many other things, I have a background in commercial printing. That’s press printing with plates, ink, cylinders, etc., a far cry from the later laser and ink jet printing. Anyway, I know Pantone from the printing industry. Every pressman, excuse me. pressperson, has a Pantone Ink book. It shows the standard Pantone colors and stock numbers as well as how to mix inks to get any custom color under the rainbow. I thought that was an especially fun part of printing. Mix the inks correctly and you get an exact color!

    1. Yep! We use it here at work to have consistency for print materials like banners, proposals, and annual reports! The graphics team is tickled that now Pantone is associated with fashion, since it’s been a print thing for forever! 🙂

And thanks Chris for all your feedback on clothing and brands. I too adore Lands’ End but the sizing is sometimes wonky; I know many other readers like the brand so your comments are so helpful to all of us!

  12. I’ve been looking at this dress on the LE website too. There are 5 colors, all great. Plus ladies, please look at the dress on the plus size model. The dress looks wonderful on her too. As others have mentioned, it is one sale for 29.99. No, I don’t work for LE although I do talk about them a lot.

    1. To be accurate, the plus size dress is 34.99. As others have mentioned, LE tends to run large, so plus size women that are on the cusp of regular sizes and plus sizes, like me, might try the regular XL. I have purchased several LE dresses in the XL size and they all fit just right.

    2. I am a size 22 and have found that for dresses I go for the size that would fit an 18/20 as it fits best when purchasing from Land’s End. This dress is amazingly comfy – and bonus – it has pockets!!

  13. OMG, the style of that dress is awesome! The color looks great on you, tho’ it’s not one I’d wear. I clicked thru & holy moly, what a great sale price & it comes in black & purple. THANK YOU 🙂

  14. This dress looks really nice on you, almost like it was tailored to fit! It looks more of a mint green in these pictures, which seems to be another hot color for Spring. Mint or malachite, it still looks fab. Have you tried Lands’ End’s cotton modal fit and flare dresses, too? If so, is the sizing comparable? I have one from last summer and I ended up having to get an XS because it ran big, though I’ve noticed this a lot with Lands’ End.

    1. Yeah, the day was really really hazy so the picture color is a bit strange. The dress is a true emerald green though. I also found the modal dresses ran big. This one is a medium 10/12 and regular, not petite. I’d normally think I was a large but LE has been running very big (I even bought a boatneck tee in a Large and am swimming in it) so I chose this in medium. Good choice!

      1. I think I might have to pick up this dress in the eggplant color (and cranapple, and malachite, and…). Thanks for the sizing advice!

      2. I was just looking at this very dress on the LE website yesterday! Someone beat me to the punch to ask about sizing! I know LE can run a little large, so it is really helpful to hear this is a Medium so I know what to expect. Thanks, Allie!

  15. I like this dress very much as it is and I KNEW it was ponte! It fits you perfectly This is this season’s hot color–I’ve seen it everywhere. I have a similar dress from Ann Taylor with a wrap tie waist and v-neckline and find the fit is comfortable and flattering.
