I wore this outfit last week to work and I felt very Classic Allie. My sister bought me this scarf a few years ago when she visited London and I love pairing it with stripes. And well, we all know I love stripes! I put away laundry this weekend and was floored how I have a drawer of almost all striped tees, but I wear them all and they all have different purposes, fits, and colors. This one I recently picked up at Ann Taylor; I like the notched hem and leather elbow patches which makes it look a bit more polished than a traditional tee, and I liked the sale price!

  1. You’re looking really trim lately. Not that you didn’t look beautiful before, obviously, but if you’ve been trying to tone up, it’s working and you look great!

  2. Your pants are too big, your hair is looking gray and needs to be dyed, and you need serious help if youre fat and have have a drawer full of striped shirts

    1. These are the same pants that I wore on the blog a month ago and you said were too small, that’s light not gray (fresh dye job thank you very much), and I don’t buy into archaic rules to try to make my body appear different from what it actually is. XO

  3. How do you tie your scarves? I have a few square silk scarves that I picked up on a trip to China but I can never figure out how to tie them without a) I get it the right length but have long ends sticking out, b) I make it too long and weirdly droopy, or c) I make it the right length by wrapping it right around and tying the ends in front of my chin, but the slippery fabric always slides to reveal the knot…

Cute outfit though ๐Ÿ™‚ if I was really picky I would have liked a pinker shade of red on your lips to pick up on the colours in the scarf, but that’s being totally picky!

    1. This scarf I tied like a cowboy, just a square knot in back with like 3/4″ tails sticking out. I can’t tie in front, my neck is too thick so this is my favorite way to wear square scarves. And I almost did a pink lip but I felt it looked too summery and I really wanted to wear the bag ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. A favorite look of mine, too. You look tres French! I recently bought an eternity scarf on Etsy that was black with tiny white stars and dots. Paired it with my black stripe mariniere and loved the look. There was a time I wouldn’t wear stripes because someone told me that horizontal stripes were unflattering to a person of my shape. I no longer listen to “someone.”

    1. Ooh la la, and yes wear the stripes! What looks unflattering is people boxed into a boring wardrobe because their body doesn’t fit some random decided size based off of gosh knows what unrealistic thing. You go girl!

  5. What a wonderful and classic ensemble. I, too, love striped tops but have somehow lost my favorite which was a boatneck that had varying width stripes of navy and red on an off-white background. I live in an apartment complex and I guess I did not get everything out of the washer and some other resident wound up with a new top. I have never found another like it. Your entire outfit is great and it even looks comfiortable! Thanks for sharing with us.

  6. I often wear a version of this same outfit and I laughed at your description of the drawer full of striped tees as I have one too! You look terrific, the whole30 glow is still with you for sure!
