Last year I went into Ann Taylor during a big sale. Little time, so I gauged what would fit and bought a few things without trying them on. And shocker, two I just didn't like, including this dress.  And then I lost the receipt. One piece I sold on eBay for only a couple dollars less than I paid, but this one when I tried it on, I got red lipstick all over the front. That meant I would have to launder, remove the tags, and not get anywhere near the price I paid for it if I tried to sell it on eBay. So I hit the lipstick with peroxide and Dawn, washed it gentle cycle, and let it sit in my closet mocking me. Recently, I decided to try on the dress and now I kind of like it! And again, I GOT LIPSTICK ON IT! So I washed it again, and this time I decided to do a bit of a Mod look with thick black liner, tons of mascara, and a nude lip that won't get all over the dress!

  1. You looking fabu in this dress, but as others have posted, wearing white is always chancy. As someone like you that loves to wear red lipstick, you have to be wary of clothing that may become easily stained. Regardless, you are rocking the dress and the neutral lipstick.

  2. I think this dress is fab – I do love the mod vibe. And thanks for the lipstick-removal tips! xo

  3. I like the styling of the dress. I have a bad habit of doing a run and grab when big sales are going on as well. I always love black and white, but haven’t found an all white dress I liked.

  4. I absolutely love this dress – good thing you got lipstick on it – because if not you would have probably gotten rid of it.

  5. You look AMAZING in this dress! You are seriously rocking the hell out of it. I am pretty terrified of wearing white – because of stains but also because it doesn’t seem to hide my fat rolls like black does! I am super impressed by how awesome you look in this dress and how cute the skirt is with those zippers. I like the mod makeup look too because the dress is very reminiscent of 60’s style white shifts. The shoes and the hair keep it from being too retro though – perfect styling! 🙂 Happy New Year!!

  6. it looks great, but I can’t imagine wearing a white dress. I don’t wear makeup and I don’t have children, but I still know it would be a disaster by the end of the day. Are you allowed to eat when you wear it? Sit down?

    1. As you can see by the photos it did get creased, but it was still clean by the end of the day and I had a turkey sub from Subway and oatmeal and two cups of coffee! I am a mega slob, so if I buy white/ivory/cream I make sure it’s a fabric that can be laundered or at least can handle a Tide-to-Go pen! This fabric is heavyweight with a lining and somehow I can keep heavier fabrics cleaner than delicate silks and wrinkly cottons 🙂
