cabi leopard pant suitAs soon as I saw this grey leopard print jacket at cabi's Scoop this summer I knew I had to have it. It's stretchy, a bit like ponte, but smoother, more polished. There's a cute X of black elastic at the back that gives the jacket a great fit and interest. I got it early fall and wore it a LOT. This was worn at the office almost every week with all sorts of things – the cabi Fringe Blouse or Indulgence Tank, a black cashmere turtleneck, a dark orange silk v-neck sweater, and a few t-shirts promoting bands and witty messages. This jacket has a matching pencil skirt and pants, but I felt both together was just too much, something I would NEVER wear to the office.

I already had everything I wanted from the line and kept looking at the pants and thought… well why the heck not? And now I am a full-time blogger and crazy fashion can be more of an everyday. These pants would also look great toned down with a solid-colored sweater, blouse, or blazer. How good would these look come spring with a white blazer and shell in black or a soft color like blush pink?  So I got them (and another pair of their leggings because their leggings are awesome). Together, the look is a bit of Peggy Bunny blended with David S. Pumpkins, but I kind of love it's craziness. To balance the cray of the look I kept my makeup and hair more neutral, just a bit of grey shadow for a subtle smoky eye and a soft pinkish-nude lip. These pants are snug but they did stretch out a bit with wear throughout the day without getting saggy. Considering how much I love this jacket, I would regret not getting the matching pants!

  1. Peggy Bundy. When I was in elementary school, a good friend’s mom kinda dressed that way except the look was the 50s version. Very tight capris which were then called pedal pushers, dyed artificial looking red hair, too much way -out- of -the -lip- line -red-lipstick, and those awful Lucite heels called Spring-O-Laters.

As a kid, I didn’t care how people dressed, but this woman was so over the
top that I couldn’t help but wonder. Even with all of that I could have
let it go if she wasn’t so awfully mean to my friend. She really was an abusive
mom and apparently didn’t care who was watching. I guess I never got
over associating that look with that woman.

Just so I am clear, I think you look great in your wild suit and I do not, DO NOY
associate you in any way with the Peg Bundy/mean mom look.

  2. I have this exact suit. It was a perfect outfit when I was in Vegas! The fit is amazing and the fabric is as comfy as pajamas. It’s by far my favorite suit. The individual pieces are so versitile – as is Cabi’s way. Love it!

  3. Rock it girl! I’d probably would of chickened out before I saw these photos. By the way, the shoots since you went full time have been even better than before. Loving the back drops and the relation to the fashion. Merry Christmas!- Laurel

    1. I couldn’t find any other than basic tops when writing this post which is why I didn’t link to similar. I don’t know why some brands think plus size women like gaudy style, why is it that snow leopard can look normal up to say size 12 and then turn into insanity? 🙁

  4. I just had to comment that you look great in this outfit! Just stunning! You really know how to rock the leopard! I really love that jacket, and would consider it to get back into my own “out of the box” style I used to have.

  5. I love this outfit ! Normally I would not pair a leopard top and bottom either (and I’m a MAJOR leopard print FREAK) but this works and is tasteful NOT tacky! Really cool and I’m very much drawn to it.

  6. After many years as a cabi shopper, next month I begin my journey as a cabi stylist. I hope you will be at Scoop! And I’m not sure if it’s true or not but having read your blog for years, my sense is that when you are letting your rocker glamour girl out you are a happier person. If that’s correct, you must be stinkin’ happy!

  7. I bought the same suit at a cabi party last month! I was wondering if you would go for it, too, when I read that you were attending the recent cabi event! Super fun, no?
