Chico's Hold Bold Are You Campaign featuring Alison Gary of Wardrobe OxygenWho would have thought a bold pink pantsuit would be one of the hardest working pieces in my wardrobe? I bought this suit a year ago without a purpose or a place but just because I loved the color and I love how Banana Republic suiting fits me. I wore it to the rewardStyle conference, wore it to a daytime wedding, to work (together and as separates), have worn each piece individually, and most recently wore it to NewsBash, an event hosted by DC-area newscasters to bring attention and necessary funding for breast cancer treatment and research in the Nation's Capital. The dress code was pink, and I fit in great wearing it with a pale pink J. Crew camisole.

Chico's Hold Bold Are You Campaign featuring Alison Gary of Wardrobe OxygenI was so excited when I received this shirt from Chico's. I think this is such a brilliant campaign. I don't feel old, I feel bold at 43 years of age. I feel like I'm finally coming in to my own. I made a risky bold choice with my career, I'm feeling bold after three months of weight training and working out, and with age I've become more bold with my personal style and life decisions. Age isn't something to fear, it's something to aspire to, and to do it with boldness. It's refreshing to see a brand like Chico's celebrate women at every age; I'm honored to partner with them.

Chico's Hold Bold Are You Campaign featuring Alison Gary of Wardrobe OxygenSpeaking of this suit, Banana Republic has some amazing suiting this season. No hot pink, but a pale pink, lavender, plenty of neutrals and some cool patterns. Banana Republic has also extended their size range to 20, with pants in short, regular, and tall lengths. I find the Ryan cut of pants fits me extremely well; these are the Ryan and I also have them in black and navy pinstripe.

  1. You look fantastic and glowing! I love this suit on you and may need to get one of those t-shirts. I just had a milestone birthday (the big 5-0) so I better get on it and I will enjoy “cheating” and wearing it when I am 52, etc. Have a wonderful weekend!

      1. Amen to that! Might need to surprise my sister (who turns 49 later this month) and my Mom who turned 75 in January and we can take a group pic when I visit them in San Diego in April! Here’s to bold ladies! 🙂

  2. I am newer to your blog- but I’m SO happy I found you. You are stunning and you wear beautiful clothes for grownups!! Giddyup!!

  3. First…Chicos campaign is amazing!! I love being proud of my age, and not being scared to shout it from the world!! It really has made me bolder because I think I realize that life is short and I need to enjoy every moment!

  4. That pink suit is an excellent choice to wear at any time of year as a wedding guest. I want one of those tee shirts.

  5. Seems like picking up that pink beauty was a good idea, you’ve gotten some good wear.
I love the color and the fit – YOU GO GIRL !

  6. I have been reading your blog for years. I don’t usually write comments on blog posts, but I just have to say this. You look so much happier! Your posts have changed a bit, obviously, but I think they really seem much more authentic and true to you (like I know you!). I love seeing your personality in Instagram stories, seeing more of your family and your tales as a wife, mother and woman! Keep on doing what you are doing! 🙂

  7. I love this campaign from Chico’s! Apparently, I have a few years to go before I’m really BOLD though. 🙂

    1. LOL you can be bold at any age. I just think society forgets about those over 40 having badass and bold tendencies and Chico’s is reminding everyone!

  8. You look amazing! Still waiting for that workout post (hint, hint!), I need all the inspo I can get in that department.

    1. I know, I just want some “after” photos but my trainer won’t take them until I reach goal weight. I guess it’s motivation, I’m almost there! 😀

      1. I don’t need an update on your workout; I’ve been following you on Instagram, so I see your progress. But, this is the first time I’ve really noticed your progress. You look FABULOUS! Your bust and waist are smaller, your neck and arms are toned and your face is radiant. I love working when I can, I’m currently recovering from ankle surgery. It makes me feel empowered, bold and brave to be able to take my health and well-being into my own hands. Continue your progress. I’m so proud of you and the changes you’ve made to better yourself.

        1. Swift healing with the ankle! Yeah, I haven’t super noticed because it’s winter and I spend most days in leggings and a sweater or overalls. The first time I noticed was when I wore this suit for NewsBash… it looked better open than buttoned and a year ago it looked better buttoned because it created a waist. It’s only like 12 pounds, but the change in exercise, lack of alcohol, reduction of caffeine, increase of sleep and fewer refined carbs/sugar have made a major impact! I hear you on feeling empowered. I never was athletic before so I didn’t know what I was missing!

    1. thank you! And I’m not sure it could be… I bought it back in 1997. I think it was mismarked it’s sterling silver but I only paid $35 for it. I got it at Hecht’s department store (RIP).
