My best friend just shared her pictures from the baby shower I attended a couple weeks ago. This was my first time wearing my Lands End Canvas oxford shirt, and I was feeling very creative with my oversized H&M scarf so I just had to share, even though it’s delayed! Blue oxford – Lands End…
I’ve been blogging for close to two decades and for most of this time I’ve been recommending Talbots. The Talbots Spring 2018 plus size collection embodies what I love so much about this fashion retailer. Elegance, style, versatility, classic timeless pieces, and amazing fit even for those of us who are petite and plus size…

I got this tee at the Ann Taylor Friends and Family event the other week and have to…
This is why I am so boring and routine with my makeup. When I try to get creative, it never looks as good. I remember once going to work in an orchid-hued sweater and did my eyes in shades of plum. I thought it was pretty, and they always say to wear plum shades with…
Saturday was my sister’s annual holiday party. Always a lovely time! I was sooo tempted to buy something new and sparkly for the event, but remembered after my recent closet clean-out, I have pretty much anything I could need for any event in my closet. So I wore a favorite… Dress and belt – Ann…
You look fantastic and glowing! I love this suit on you and may need to get one of those t-shirts. I just had a milestone birthday (the big 5-0) so I better get on it and I will enjoy “cheating” and wearing it when I am 52, etc. Have a wonderful weekend!
Also, you & your readers might like this t-shirt I DID buy myself recently: https://otherwild.com/collections/by-otherwild/products/sister-resister-t-shirt?variant=31709234701 Cheers!
Yeah, I totally just ordered one for me and one for my sister. Thanks!
Hooray! 🙂
Thank you Tara and YES get the shirt (and who says you can only wear it for one year? 😀 )!
Amen to that! Might need to surprise my sister (who turns 49 later this month) and my Mom who turned 75 in January and we can take a group pic when I visit them in San Diego in April! Here’s to bold ladies! 🙂
Oh my gosh I love that idea!!!
I am newer to your blog- but I’m SO happy I found you. You are stunning and you wear beautiful clothes for grownups!! Giddyup!!
Thank you so much Caroline, and I am so glad to have you here!
First…Chicos campaign is amazing!! I love being proud of my age, and not being scared to shout it from the world!! It really has made me bolder because I think I realize that life is short and I need to enjoy every moment!
As for the pink suit, Allie. It is incredible on you!! I think this bright pink is definitely one of your colors and you look so #bossbabe in it!!!
XOXO

Thank you so much Jodie!
That pink suit is an excellent choice to wear at any time of year as a wedding guest. I want one of those tee shirts.
I love that they have them available for sale. I was worried it was just a campaign but everyone can have them!
Seems like picking up that pink beauty was a good idea, you’ve gotten some good wear.
I love the color and the fit – YOU GO GIRL !
Thanks Lorena!
I have been reading your blog for years. I don’t usually write comments on blog posts, but I just have to say this. You look so much happier! Your posts have changed a bit, obviously, but I think they really seem much more authentic and true to you (like I know you!). I love seeing your personality in Instagram stories, seeing more of your family and your tales as a wife, mother and woman! Keep on doing what you are doing! 🙂
That’s so great to read Roya, thank you!
I love this campaign from Chico’s! Apparently, I have a few years to go before I’m really BOLD though. 🙂
LOL you can be bold at any age. I just think society forgets about those over 40 having badass and bold tendencies and Chico’s is reminding everyone!
You look amazing! Still waiting for that workout post (hint, hint!), I need all the inspo I can get in that department.
I know, I just want some “after” photos but my trainer won’t take them until I reach goal weight. I guess it’s motivation, I’m almost there! 😀
I don’t need an update on your workout; I’ve been following you on Instagram, so I see your progress. But, this is the first time I’ve really noticed your progress. You look FABULOUS! Your bust and waist are smaller, your neck and arms are toned and your face is radiant. I love working when I can, I’m currently recovering from ankle surgery. It makes me feel empowered, bold and brave to be able to take my health and well-being into my own hands. Continue your progress. I’m so proud of you and the changes you’ve made to better yourself.
Swift healing with the ankle! Yeah, I haven’t super noticed because it’s winter and I spend most days in leggings and a sweater or overalls. The first time I noticed was when I wore this suit for NewsBash… it looked better open than buttoned and a year ago it looked better buttoned because it created a waist. It’s only like 12 pounds, but the change in exercise, lack of alcohol, reduction of caffeine, increase of sleep and fewer refined carbs/sugar have made a major impact! I hear you on feeling empowered. I never was athletic before so I didn’t know what I was missing!
You look fabulous! That pink suit just suits you. And I love the Chico’s campaign.
Isn’t it an awesome campaign? This is one promotion I am thrilled to be a part of!
Love your blog! Be Bold! I think I have the same bracelet. (Harvest Gold jewelry)
thank you! And I’m not sure it could be… I bought it back in 1997. I think it was mismarked it’s sterling silver but I only paid $35 for it. I got it at Hecht’s department store (RIP).
Just had to order that T. Having a BIG birthday this summer and bought it in anticipation.
AWESOME! It’s a great tee and a great message. Happy early birthday!
Damn! The hot pink suit really works.
Right? Who would have thought it??
I love the tshirt and suit combo!
thanks Alison!
