chicos moto jacketChico's started in 1983 as a small boutique selling Mexican folk art and cotton sweaters on Sanibel Island in Florida. 35 years later, Chico's has evolved to 700 Chico's boutiques nationwide, a monthly catalog, and round-the-clock shopping online. Chico's has always done such a great job of bringing creative fashion to the masses. Wearable for work or weekends and great pieces designed for travel, Chico's always adds a little touch to keep their line from looking too mainstream, too ordinary, too commonplace. I have been a fan of Chico's for many years.

over 40 fashion blog chicosIf the sizing of my pieces look odd, it's because Chico's has their own sizing convention, but they have a handy size chart to help you match up to your regular size or measurements. Their clothing ranges from 0-20 and many pieces are available in petites (even this tee which has become my new favorite). I find their clothing to be generously sized; I got all these pieces in a 2 which is equal to a 12 and believe I could have sized down in the jacket (though this size would be perfect with a sweater) and chosen petite for the jeggings. And can I rave about these leggings for a moment? they are so incredibly comfortable; they're a nice dark color that looks polished, the finish is more like denim but feels like a pair of leggings. This is the second day I wore them to show they don't get stretched out with wear.

chicos earringsChico's has some of the coolest jewelry and the Connie collection is a perfect example. A mix of hammered silver and lucite, the pieces add shine and sparkle without weight and work with any color and many styles of outfits. I love that the earrings are clip-on; while my ears are pierced clip-ons make dangly earrings far more comfortable!

I am thrilled that Chico's wanted to provide a giveaway for you readers! One Wardrobe Oxygen reader will win a $150 Chico's gift card to spend as she wishes, in-store or online. And let me tell you, this look is only an example of the fabulous fashion Chico's has this spring!

  1. I’ve started shopping at Chicos as a result of reading your blog. I never would have consider it an option before, but since have found a few great pieces – like those jeggings and the silky soft shirt – that I bought the day after I saw you wearing it in olive green on your blog in October! 🙂

  2. I don’t know exactly what I would get. I have not shopped at Chico’s before. I would probably stick with work basics though

  3. I might get that V-Neck Slub Tee in Europa Pink, along with some black and White Travelers pieces and a silver-tone Connie necklace.

  4. Your outfit is a great example of why I love Chicos. It looks great on someone as young as you, but with just a few tweaks, I could also wear that out fit and I am in my 60’s. They style outfits for all ages, but one of the things they do best is create clothing for the “older” body with all of its changes that still looks stylish and relevant. And they offer quality. I have pieces from Chicos that are over 5 years old.

  5. I love the jeggings you are rocking! And I would like to check out the petites travel collection 🙂 Happy early Gal-entines Day.

  6. I liked Chicos back in the day, but recent purchases weren’t the cousin for me (quality had decreased and prices increased). I’ll have to try again if I win.

  12. I would choose items from their Travelers collection. I love Chicos because they have Petite sizes that fit really well. That’s hard to find especially in pants. I would buy two pairs of the Travelers Classic Petite No Tummy Pants with the gift card.

  13. I haven’t shopped at Chico’s in several years, but a recent interstate move has made me aware of a small mall with a fabulous local boutique, a Talbot’s, and a Chico’s right next to each other. My husband calls it the Wallet Danger Zone.

  14. I have an old watch from Chico’s called Silver Ox, I think, that’s silver leather that looks like metal. So cool and years later, I still love it and it still looks good. Would love to try the jacket you’re wearing!

  15. Love how Chico’s has set up their website by organizing the clothing by colour! Fantastic way to see how the pieces all mix and match. Instantly drawn to the Striped Layered Effect pullover. Love all their fabulous prints.

  17. I would never have guessed those were jeggings. Now I want some for myself–they look great! I need to give Chicos a look b/c those pieces all look so pretty on you!

  18. Love the COZY STRIPED BATEAU-NECK TOP in both colors and the slub tee-shirt. There is also a great collection of jewelry that I love.

  21. I am loving the blue in the Traveler’s Collection. I’m heading to Thailand in a couple of months and I can definitely see wearing the micro-pleat printed pants and the paisley top. And several of the tanks from the collection as well. I need either long skirts or pants and tops with sleeves to visit the temples. These look like great options.

  22. I have had a “go-to” Chicos black wrap dress for years! I would love to try their trousers! Although those jeggings look pretty fabulous as well !

  29. I’m actually currently wearing a Chico’s piece that I picked up at the thrift store!
I’ve been a little turned off by their special way of sizing, but it may be worth hitting up a store to learn more because their pieces are cute + comfortable!

  30. I had (sadly) forgotten about Chicos, but now realize this may be the solution to my strange work wardrobe requirements. Mostly I work from home, but then have periodic intense trips where I do tons of participatory facilitation around the world. So, I need travel work clothes that are comfortable, semi-professional with a touch of funkiness, and easy to move around in. So, time to reacquaint myself with Chicos. To start, I’m coveting the travelers collection drape front cardigan in dark jade…

  31. Chico’s jewelry is outstanding. I have a few pieces but have never tried their clothes. The gift card would get me started on a wardrobe!

  32. I really like your outfit, so I just took a look at Chico’s website. Their Brigitte slimming shorts seem like they’d be really comfortable in the Florida heat. I’d love to give them a try!

  33. I was admiring a textured moto jacket I saw in the Chico’s window this weekend. I’m still thinking about it almost a week later, so I may have to order one to try on!
