One of the best things I've learned getting older it is that it truly makes sense to focus on quality, not quantity. From our closets to our closest friends, it makes sense to pare down to just the quality in our lives and cultivate it. This is why I am partnering with JamesAllen.com. This diamond review is sponsored by JamesAllen.com.

Over the past few years, I have found myself paring down with my jewelry collection, gravitating towards quality pieces that have sentimental or personal value, wearing them again and again. While big statement costume jewelry has been a staple of my wardrobe for years, in the past two, I have been drawn to smaller, timeless pieces. I re-wear the same earrings, the same delicate necklace, the same bracelets, and even find I don’t regularly remove them. They have become a part of my signature and myself.

The Classic Diamond Jewelry I Recommend

After assessing what jewelry I wore the most often last year and my style goals for the new year, I settled on three diamond jewelry pieces from JamesAllen.com that I knew would get a lot of wear this year and beyond:

  • Diamond Tennis Bracelet: I have a costume jewelry tennis bracelet older than my daughter. For years I never wore it but in the past two years I've worn it so many times. There's something about this classic piece that adds subtle elegance to every single look. It glams up a smartwatch or fitness tracker, looks great solo, or when stacked with other bracelets. The bit of glint peeking out of a cuff or adorning a bare arm is casual sophistication and you don't need to work to dress up a look for an evening occasion.
  • Diamond Studs: As I mentioned above, I've gone from wearing big bold earrings on the daily, to enjoying an ear full of small beautiful pieces. Over the past couple of years I began wearing earrings in my second hole I got in high school and last year I reopened my third hole in my lobe. And just last weekend I went to get my conch pierced. I love the idea of traditional diamond studs in my main holes and tiny little bits of bling in all the other spots. I'm not the only one, considering these articles from the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times!
  • Diamond Pendant: With a delicate barely-there chain, a diamond pendant necklace goes with everything in your closet. Stack it with other chain necklaces or wear it solo. Like a tennis bracelet, a diamond pendant is an everyday jewelry that offers understated luxury and sophistication. In college, I had a cubic zirconia pendant necklace that turned the back of my neck green but I wore it anyway because it elevated every ensemble. Now that I am a grown-ass woman, I deserve grown-ass jewelry with a real diamond pendant. And honestly, I think small diamonds are sophisticated like “on this thing?” rather than trying to impress. I love how JamesAllen.com lets you customize the diamond pendant perfect for you.

Choosing Conflict-Free Diamonds

Every diamond sold by JamesAllen.com is certified conflict-free in compliance with the Patriot Act, the Kimberley Process, and United Nations resolutions. Conflict-free diamonds are gems that were not obtained due to human rights abuses, child labor, violence, or environmental degradation. The internal guidelines at JamesAllen.com exceed government requirements: the company has binding contracts with suppliers that guarantee that their diamonds comply with all applicable laws and are certified conflict-free and are from sources that are members of the professional diamond trade.

Consider Lab Created Diamonds

Lab-created diamonds and Earth-created diamonds offer identical optical and chemical compositions. The sparkle is the same – the core difference is their origin. Lab-grown diamonds start with a small sliver of chemicals in a lab called a diamond seed. The diamond seed is exposed to high temperatures and a carbon coating is added to help the lab-created diamond crystallize as it grows.

Synthetic diamonds like cubic zirconia are made of different materials than Earth‑created and lab-created diamonds and are easily distinguishable from both of them. Lab-created diamonds cannot be distinguished from Earth‑created diamonds even with a professional loupe.

Lab-created diamonds allow you to maximize your budget, offering around 30% more size for the same price, while Earth-created diamonds are incredible works of nature and the traditional choice. You can learn more about lab-created diamonds offered by JamesAllen.com at this link.

Thank you JamesAllen.com for partnering with me and educating me on how to achieve great style with Earth-created and lab-created diamonds! To learn more about James Allen, please visit JamesAllen.com or follow the company on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or Pinterest.

  1. All the pieces you chose are gorgeous & timeless. I’ve wanted a small diamond pendant & studs for years, so I’m anxious to look into these further. You look especially lovely in these pics too!

  2. All 3 pieces are such classic staples! My jonesing for a pair of diamond studs is so bad! Now I am on the James Allen website looking at the various settings- so many choices!
James Allen has a great reputation, I have read so many good reviews on their rings on a diamond specific website.

  3. Love diamond studs and pearl studs! You look lovely in the diamond jewelery. What lip product are you wearing? Stunning.

  4. Thanks for this post. I bought diamond studs for my wedding an am thinking more and more about a tennis bracelet or a pendant. Can you share the size/weight of the ones you have to help with proportion when placing an order on the James Allen site? Thanks so much!

  5. Can you tell us what size diamond studs you are wearing? I followed the link and was kind of confused at all the size options, the size you have looks nice – big enough to show, but not over the top for everyday. thanks!

  6. Oh I love that Diamond pendant! I hadn’t considered one but do think I’d get so much wear! I currently have small diamonds I wear in my first two holes- I think the trick to not losing them is snug, secure backs. (One pair is 10 years old, the other is 20…gotta love a classic!) Great review!

  7. I don’t know that I’m brave enough to do real diamond studs since I lose them all the time in my hair. But I’ve been eyeing a diamond pendant for ages. My biggest hang up is metal color. Yellow Gold or White Gold? Been struggling with this one since I let my gray come in.

    1. I think what’s great is there are so many new types of backs for earrings. Screw styles stay put even with hair, and have worked for me even when swimming, etc. As for color I agree it’s tough! I liked the white gold because it’s sort of like no metal, just the diamond shows. But gold is classic!

  8. Thank you for sharing information about James Allen jewelry. The photos of you in this post are beautiful and your makeup is perfect! Just had to mention it! Enjoy your day!

  9. Goodness you are brave. I applaud you wanting pieces you will keep, but tiny stud earrings with real diamonds? I have lost so many earrings, that I really wouldn’t dare.

    1. Check out the new backs they have for diamond earrings. The pair James Allen sent me have a classic back but a divot in the post where it wasn’t easy to get the back off. Also they have screw-on backs and permabacks where the earrings stay put without some manual labor!

      1. Those diamonds really do look good with denim or cashmere. Be sure and frame those photos, you look wonderful! I did not know there was jewelry insurance either.
