Over 40 Beauty: Rodan + Fields Lash Boost Review

I’ve never had long lashes. My sister is the one who got the lashes; she complains of them bumping against her sunglasses while I’ve spent my adulthood searching for the best products to curl, lengthen, and volumize. As I have gotten older, my lashes have become thinner and shorter.

I’ve tried fiber mascaras, lash primers, lengthening mascaras, volumizing mascaras. In 2014 I tried RapidLash and when accidentally tugging while curling my lashes, I ended up pulling out every lash on one eye. I swore I wouldn’t try another serum. But then my best friend showed me the results from using the Rodan + Fields Enhancements Lash Boost and it sold me.

The Rodan + Fields Lash Boost is NOT cheap, but when I thought about how may drugstore and department store mascaras, fibers, and primers I’ve bought I wondered if in the long run this may save me money. Imagine having the kind of lashes where I can actually use $4 Maybelline Great Lash Mascara and not look like a rabbit? That would be amazing!

MY HONEST REVIEW OF RODAN + FIELDS LASH BOOST

So many of you readers are at-home consultants for a variety of products; I’ve made a business decision to no longer partner with any of you to remain fair. If I try an at-home sales product, it comes from either a friend or the corporate office. My friend Candice sells Rodan + Fields. I worked with her for many years and even officiated her wedding. If I was going to try this product or anything from R+F it would be through her. Candice was great, she knew I wasn’t down for the sales pitch. She sent me a link, told me to sign up as a preferred client to get the best price and I’d be able to pause or even cancel at any time without hassle.

Rodan + Fields Lash Boost is used at bedtime. After cleaning your face and drying it, you put a very thin layer of it along your top lash line. Seriously, less is more when it comes to this stuff. I wipe the brush in the tube to get off as much as possible, then put on my lashes, then run the brush along my brows which have thinned as well with age. Wait 90 seconds, then you can apply your eye creams and such. I use that time to apply my retinol since it shouldn’t be on the eyes.

After about two weeks of Rodan + Fields Lash Boost use, then after almost two months of use.  Same mascara and lash curler used for both photos.

I started Rodan + Fields Lash Boost at the beginning of February. In less than two weeks I saw a change. Well I didn’t exactly see it in the mirror, but I saw it when I did this blog post. Wow, my lashes look so long! They haven’t looked like that in years… maybe ever? And no fall out or fragile lashes. Other than the sand in the eye feeling when I’d accidentally glop it on, no irritation, redness, or reaction to the product. Also no worries if you forget a night or two or even a week; I’ve done it and haven’t lost the lashes I grew.

My brows have also grown.  The hairs have gotten longer, but sparse places have filled in.  My brows also are short; they end before the outside of my eyes.  Using this has lengthened my brows so my face is more even looking.

After two weeks of Rodan + Fields Lash Boost use, then after two months of use.  Same lash curler, same mascara.  Do note the top photo only has mascara on the left eye.

It’s been almost two months and my lashes are crazy awesome. I used to press my lash curler so hard to get my lashes to not curl but bend up so they could be seen. Before this I was doing a lash primer, then a volumizing mascara and a bit of liquid liner poked in between the lashes to make them look thicker. And now? For the first time in my life I see why so many beauty gurus recommend Maybelline Great Lash Mascara. If you have long lashes, it does a great job of holding curl, coating them, defining them, and not clumping. As for my pricey tube of Lash Boost, I’m nowhere near finished with it so the price isn’t as steep when you realize it will last for a few months. I’m totally sold!

  1. I’ve been the usage of Rodan & Fields lash boost for approximately 12 months now. I just can’t afford it. but with the dermalmd eyelash serum, I am getting the same outcomes for a fraction of the price. I have tried an entire bunch of various ones and this is by far the most bang for the buck!

  2. Does the lash boost change the color of your eyes? I purchased it and have been using for a week and I just read where it changes your eye color? Now I am afraid to use it.

  3. Please don’t allow consultants to post!!! It absolutely ruins the reviews for me. We all have about 50 “friends” on FB who sell this.

    1. I’ve deleted most of their comments, it got pretty awful in here. They even reported my friend who sold it to me to the higher ups and she got in trouble even though she didn’t even know I wrote this. Utterly awful. The only comments from consultants I am keeping are those that provide information I don’t have to answer questions. Any that link to their page are deleted, any that are just selling are deleted, and some that have been rabid with their responses and angry at me for deleting their comments have been banned. Please know also that I was not paid to write this and have never received payment or gifted product from R+F or any of their consultants. I still use this product and swear by it and may mention it from time to time on this blog but just because I am a legit fan. Thank you!

  4. Ive been using LashBoost for about 8 weeks and while some lashes are longer, i have some that are crooked and it looks as if the lashes are thinning. Is anyone else seeing this ?

    1. How is it working for you now? I heard that’s a big reason why they say wipe the brush on the tube before applying so it’s a super little and even amount. I’m still using this product and no issues, I use it every 2-3 nights and also apply it to my brows.

    1. Hi Tasha, I’m a consultant with Rodan + Fields, so here’s the scoop: Lash Boost is not meant to be applied directly to the lower lash line directly, only the top. You will still see a difference in your lower lashes though! I absolutely have. The serum is very potent, and the small amount that will be distributed to your lower lashes by blinking will be enough to do the trick. As to extensions, you *might* find that you no longer need them once you’ve used Lash Boost consistently for a couple months. All of my clients who are using LB have stopped filling their extensions. That said, you *can* use with extensions, but it could make the glue sticky. Depends on the glue being used. I hope that’s helpful!

  5. I have been using the lash boost for about three months and my lashes are definitely longer and fuller. I’m wondering if I stop using it what will happen. I hope that you don’t have to use it daily forever. Does anyone know?

    1. Tonya reminded me in a different comment that lashes fall out and regrow. So you can stop, but the current long and full lashes will be replaced in time with new lashes that haven’t experienced the serum. I don’t use mine every night, I skip every so often.

  6. U would need to buy a new tube only because logically your lashes and brows on their own do not maintain the necessary nutrients to keep their length and fullness. If they did you wouldn’t have needed the serum to begin with. Lash Boost only adds the nutrients your lashes and brows need it doesn’t rebuild your body chemistry to start producing more. So, u can absolutely stop using it. Just expect for things to go back to the way they were once your lashes and brows deplete the nutrients Lash Boost provided.

  7. Hi Allie, I have been using Lash Boost since December and my tube just ran out. I absolutely love it but can’t find any information anywhere indicating if I need to continue to buy it to maintain my results. I don’t want to ask my consultant because I know she will say I need to buy more because she wants the sale. Have you heard anything? Thanks

    1. That’s a great question. I have not heard. I didn’t take it with me on my trip and ended up not using it for over a week. I think I may do another week or so to test and see what happens since I still have some in my tube. I’ll report back.

      1. You do need to continue using the product to maintain results. I still use mine every night. You can use just a few times a week as maintenance. Some people have found the product to be less effective if kept more than a couple months, but some people use it for 4 months with no decrease in results. Do what is working and most effective for you. I’m glad you are loving the product. I’m a consultant and LOVE hearing customers success stories.

  8. I’m 6 weeks in and loving the results. I used Latisse for a year and never got results this good. My girl is saying that I need a new tube after 60 days, even if the brush still feels wet. She says the active ingredients will be inert at that point and not work. Also, I thought for full results it takes 4 months. True or false? Thanks.

    1. My rep didn’t tell me that, she said to use the tube until it’s dry. I’ve been using the same tube since the end of January and haven’t seen any reduction in success. If it’s going to be full results in 4 months I may need to trim my lashes!

    2. Hi April, I want to follow up that the product does lose effectiveness before the tube goes dry. I’d say 3-4 months max on a tube. I was trying to use until it went dry and my lashes weren’t as long. I got a new tube this week and can already see a bit of growth coming back!

        1. The price is $150. If you sign up for Autopay and become a preferred member you pay some upfront price but it makes the first tube like $75. I just got my second tube (I’m still not finished with mine but my sister wanted to try) and it was like $142 because of the Autopay discount.

          1. Hi Allie,

Just curious if you’re still using this? I ended up using and love Lash Boost in like 2018, but am waffling about whether I want to invest in it again.

  9. I do have long lashes but they are light colored and straight. I wore L’Oréal lash out mascara forever and switched to L’Oréal telescopic mascara four or so years ago. I have never used a lash curler. I hate how it clumps lashes together. I use a blow dryer to bend my lashes up. After applying a couple of coats of mascara, put your blow dryer on cool and low and place under your lashes. It dries them and slightly bends them up. I’ve done this for 30 years and people always comment on my long lashes!

  10. Crazy! I am just at about 2 months using the R+F lash booster serum, as well 🙂 So far, so good. I have the quadruple deficit when it comes to lashes — short, sparse, straight and lighter than my hair. A good friend at my daughter’s school is a rep and I decided to go for it. I truly wish it were less expensive, but I am thrilled to have the best lashes of my life. Not bad for almost-50.

  11. FYI, I’m using another lash enhancement serum with good results but I’ve also added to my daily regime a dietary supplement called “Beau-T”. My hair & eyelashes were really thinning and/or sparse and I’ve seen improvement in both. My bottom lashes were non existent and now I have them! Additionally, I have always had good nails but they are even stronger, to the point of having to clip the nail with every manicure. (Beau-T was recommended to me and is available on Amazon.)

  12. Thanks for the review. I’d looked at this product and wondered if it was worth the price. I trust your reviews to be unbiased, rather than all the pitches from sales people. I’m sorry your comments section turned into an R&F pitch session though! Part of the reason I’m still afraid to buy this product is the heavy-handed sales techniques for R&F and other MLM reps!

    1. I’m an R&F consultant and I’m sorry you feel the sales techniques seem heavy-handed. Some of us get overly excited to have something that is life changing. Even the Lash Boost which some of us use to just have longer lashes, but to the people that have loss their brow/lashes hair due to cancer treatments is a win. We all have different approaches when it comes to sales, but don’t let that keep you from buying something from an MLM that could change your life. 🙂

      1. Just try it! I used to feel the same about MLM… but I ended up loving the products and joining them… hopefully not being pushy though. I let the products speak for themselves. The results don’t lie. Best if luck

  13. Thanks for your review of LASH BOOST! I’m 48 and my lashes are “hitting the lenses of my glasses” for the first time ever! This product is incredible! I, too, am a Rodan+Fields consultant. So glad your friend introduced you to this life changing skin care!

  14. Thanks so much for the positive feedback — it’s the best when clients are happy AND willing to share their experience. For anyone interested, I’m the “Candice” Alison refers to in her write up and she linked my website too — please feel free to reach out to me if you have any interest in giving it a try. 60 day, empty bottle, money back guarantee! Thanks again, Alison — i’m so glad you are pleased!

      1. Allie, I’ve decided to go ahead and order the lash boost. Could Candice contact me at my email address? She did at the time of this original post but I never got around to doing anything back then.

    1. I doubt it’s the same as Latisse as this doesn’t require a prescription. The ingredients from their website:

        1. I’m not a consultant, just a customer, a new customer. I purchased the regimen Soothe because I have such sensitive skin and with the purchase of a full regimen I was able to bundle in the Lash Boost at a discounted price and I love it! Both products are amazing, Soothe literally was showing huge results overnight and I’m about two weeks in with the Lash Boost and I’m seeing amazing results from it as well!
I had been on the fence for quit sometime but I’m so glad I finally decided to go for it. It’s not cheap but neither is throwing away products I can’t use or just don’t work, plus the bottles will last you for a few months. Once you take all that into consideration the cost really isn’t any different than department store products, you can also receive 10% off each order and free shipping if you sign up as a preferred customer and they have an empty bottle return policy! I love this company and their products, they’ve literally changed my life, Good Luck Kim.

      1. I am allergic to gold and all derivatives of gold, such as zinc. Does anyone know if the R&D products are safe for me to use?

    2. No. Not like Latisse. It’s key ingredients are keratin, biotin, and panthenol to moisturize, nourish and strengthen your own lashes. No one-time use disposable brushes and no changes to eye color. Yeah, I just might be a rep?

      1. Hi Heather, thanks for your feedback! Just to let you know, I deleted your email/link. A few bad apples spoil the bunch… there was some R+F rep in-fighting on here last weekend trying to one-up each other on my readers’ comments. I deleted all of their comments because it got to be so awful. I will allow R+F reps to reply here now, but not with any sales tactic. Thank you so much for understanding and providing helpful information about this great product!

  15. My lashes used to bump against my glasses. “Used to”. I’m going to give this a try.I haven’t even been using mascara most days because it didn’t really help and I feared I was damaging the few follicles I still have.
